garden diary-signs of life

These my friends are signs of life in dead winter garden. The weather has finally caught up with us on the coast dumping rain, little sunshine and very cool nights. This does not bid well for plants but despite the conditions I have some plants still trying to survive. The top photo are the self seeded potatoes on their third round. The next is a pea shoot that must have been a fallen pea from the fall planting, lettuce, and last is broccoli. The end of next month marks the start of another growing season and sadly our last one here in Northern California. I hope the garden gods are listening and make this next season a prolific one.

Oh no, are you moving? Will you continue a garden where you going? Our garden is pretty sad though some sage, lavender and rosemary are all still going strong despite our snow last night.
