Well folks these are it, the final recipe that I have tried and finally found to be better than just average for a burger bun. I have been searching for a recipe to use whole wheat flour or an adapted recipe to use whole wheat and this recipe was found over at Smitten Kitchen. She put in a lot more time and effort and found this recipe via the New York Times. Either way its now in my recipe book for a quick and delicious bun recipe.
The only thing adapted from the recipe was whole wheat bread flour replaced white bread flour and whole wheat pastry flour replaced all- purpose white flour. The recipe is delicious enough that the boys have requested a bun for breakfast. Here is her recipe via Smitten Kitchen blog. Enjoy!
