Well, the time is almost here for our girls to start laying as we hit 19 weeks old this month. The excitement is building for the kids as everyone takes a gamble at what day the first egg will come. This has also opened up a barrage of interesting questions from Little B including "Why do eggs come out of butts?" and "Will the eggs taste like poop?".  I think he has a handle on the anatomy part now after some creative drawings of a chicken.
Until the day they start laying, we have started training with golf balls to show them were to lay in the coop (as a tip from a chicken wranglin' friend) and made the switch to organic laying feed as supplement to the free-range eating they do in the yard.
