garden snapshots
The garden has given all the peas it can and where taken out, shucked, and eaten or frozen. But this means new space and new veggie possibilities. I saved about 2 dozen peas for seeds and cannot wait for another go at this popular table veggie. My onions are starting to flower and my summer squash is going gangbuster. I bought some broccoli starts from the farmers market to fill the new space. They were divided and planted and all was right in the world until my chickens plotted against me and did a hostile takeover of the garden eating and ripping out every broccoli planted. It was my fault for leaving the ladies alone in the garden but the lesson was learned.
