summer season

The garden is entering the summer season here on the coast and because of the mild climate the veggies are mostly the same veggies still thriving from the January planting and germination. The tomatoes are the only fruit that are growing like crazy and soaking up every last bit of the shy Humboldt sun. The fog season is kicking in and our sunny days are few and far between. I am a little nervous about the basil and cilantro but I figured you don't know unless you try. A new addition to our garden is a toad and a newly made toad house. The little guy reportedly eats 10,000 insects in a single summer season which is a good thing to help battle my slug and snail issue. I will post tomorrow how to make a home for a garden toad with pictures from our toad house.
